King of Me

I wrote a new song and the idea behind it is a prayer to God simply saying, "Lord, be King of me".  I'm amazed at the number of people who pray to be used by God but are really more focused on maintaining their own kingdoms, and I can be just as guilty as anyone.  Isaiah 66 says "This is the one I esteem: he who is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word."  The song starts off by saying "here I am at your feet, savior please, take my crown, take all of me, savior please".  It is simply a prayer to humble yourself.  Being humble doesn't have to start by horrible things happening in your life causing you to be forced into submission to the Lord and feeling weak and helpless.  In fact, those who choose to walk that way are humble until good things happen again, and then they are down the road.  Also, humbleness isn't weakness.  Being humble is simply allowing the Lord to have first dibs on everything you are or you can produce, before you get in the way.  It is putting Him first, becoming less to make room for actual greatness that is everlasting.  The pre-chorus of the song says "For this life is lost on me, if I can't truly be, used for your Glory, so less I will become, to make this heart your own, I surrender all".   The idea here is our lives really are worthless if God doesn't have control of them to manifest his glory on the earth.  As you go about your day today,  say to the Lord, "be king of me".  This doesn't mean you won't have horrendous challenges or the feeling of breaking apart sometimes, but what it does enable is room for God to have the correct position on your life to operate from.  Even though we don't always understand His ways, I would rather know I have surrendered myself to Him so I have every chance of Him showing his glory.

Update on my Worship Record

Hey Everyone, thanks for taking a moment to check out my blog.  I am going to use this to update people on everything from my thoughts on worship, life, my music, and many other items.

I am very excited to begin sharing some of the music that I have been working on for what now seems to be an eternity.  I did some demos of songs a while ago and felt that I wanted to share these in their current form so people can start learning them and using them before my comprehensive release coming in January 2011.  These are songs that I believe will encourage people and ultimately put the focus on Christ and the worship of Him.

Keep coming back and checking on updates, and also check out my facebook page (search for "dan schultz music" and become a fan.
